Jane Martin is intelligent but extremely shy, especially around men. When the Aid and Cultural Society proposes a letter-writing program, Jane signs up, hoping she can find a friend across the miles. But the program doesn’t run as smoothly as expected.

Unbeknownst to her, Thomas Allred from town becomes her writing friend. Thomas has always known quiet Jane—or thought he did—but reading her letters addressed to his secret persona opens his eyes to what an amazing woman she is. Meanwhile, Jane has no idea that the romantic letters she receives are penned by Thomas—or that he’s falling in love with her in person.

My Thoughts

Between the Lines is a short and sweet romance between a young man and woman who had know each other throughout their life but they just noticed each other through letter.

The Aid and Cultural society had an event in which the members of this society can write a letter to another similar society in Canada.

Unfortunately, Jane Martin got no match because the other society was short of three matches in which Emma and Thomas given up their chances to write a letter. Due to this circumstance, Thomas decided to write to Jane with a different identiy called Charles.

I really like this book. It's short that you can finish it quickly. That's the beauty of short story.

I've always loved knowing one another with letters. No one knows what might happen after each letter. Jane and Thomas wrote to each other with their true feelings. These letters show that you can truly love someone with letters and you don't see their outer appearances. The other cute thing is that they fell in love slowly and steadily. They were friends first before anything else.

Really recommended!
